Maybe I'm going to use this after all...

So since I'm working in front of a computer I have a reasonable amount of control over all day, I've finally started getting some sort of music going on it.

Unlike Lauren, I really don't like music enough to devote the kind of time that she does into developing, maintaining, and categorizing a giant mp3 collection. I'm not even kidding. She'll spend two or three days straight just rating songs and classifying stuff into different playlists.

So Pandora internet radio is working out pretty well for me. I put in listings for songs that I remember liking, and stuff that I had forgetten I liked shows up too. Like Van Halen. Also stuff I didn't know about, but like anyway. It's the perfect solution for the lazier music fan. The only problem is that their selection is not exactly conclusive, even in the week or so I've been using it I've found gaps in their discography, but all in all it's a neat way to find new music.

Their business model is pretty interesting too. They have links straight from the console to Amazon and iTunes so that if you hear a song you like, you can buy it on the spot. They don't let you repeat or directly select songs to listen too, or even skip more than a certain number of songs per hour, so it really forces you to listen to new music you might like rather than only old music you know you like. It's a good plan.

In other news, I'd completely forgotten about Joe Satriani. He plays electric gitaur like he has fifteen fingers, it's spectacular.

Hi there, this account exists primarily as a way for me to comment in journals of people I know. I don't expect to be making posts here much, but who knows, I may change my mind.
